Personally, I have seen the anime through. All of the TV version and parts of the DVD (uncensored) version.
I DO NOT recommend this show for anyone under the age of 16 or 17 unless they are very mature.
Most anyone under that age is likely not to be sophisticated enough for the show's content.
This show deals with mature subject matter and suggestive content.
Most audiences in North America will be uncomfortable and even appalled with it's content.
KodomoNoJikan deals directly with dysfunctional families, dysfunctional teachers and something
that most people in North American do NOT like to discuss, children's sexuality.
While there are no illicit or overt sex-acts throughout the show, there are many situations where it suggested and
mimicked. This is not a show for people that are close-minded or have a limited sense of humor.
You can look at this program as an indictment of society or perverted poke at people's indecision and indiscretion.
I like to think of it both ways.
This is a rather direct but heartwarming series, that throws some very uncomfortable ideas at you.
You can discover just how sure of yourself and your ideals you truly are.
If you have little or no conscience you might just have found a new little fetish.
If you have a clear conscience this show will not bother you, much,
if you don't . . .
. . . Let those without sin cast the first stone.
For all the negative hype that this show has received the fans at ANN rate it as "GOOD" about 7.2.
I guess I'm not afraid of it. I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional family so I thought it was better,
I give it a solid 8.
The character designs are very cute, plus the writing is pretty good.
I would be quite surprised if this show ever made it to the North American market.
The manga was licenced over here but was never published.
